Sexist Asshat in Chief
During his testy press briefing about Rumsfeld's departure, Bush shared many examples of how he wants to work with Democrats.
But my favorite one was when he offered, in the spirit of bipartisan togetherness, to recommend some republican decorators to Nancy Pelosi to help pick out drapes for her new office.
Because she's a woman. And we looove to decorate. Ha ha, Georgie, ha ha!

It was a mea culpa actually:
``You might remember in 2004 some of them were measuring the drapes in the West Wing,'' he said. ``They had their office suites all picked out. Except their problem was, the movers weren't needed.''
Oh yeah, my officemate and I just caught that line about twenty minutes ago. There was a collective groan in the office.
I can't wait for her to start tearing up the joint.
The "picking out the new drapes" line has been used for years, even when the leaders have been men.
But I commend you for finding something to complain about in the face of a great victory.
even if it wasn't a sexist snipe at pelosi, use of the drapes metaphor still implies a kind of mocking feminization of the opponent.
A great victory, maybe, but a hollow one. Seven states passed referendums banning gay marriage. Next they'll take away our birth control. Then it'll be our end of life choices. Then they'll make camps for dissenters. When they come for you, who will be left to defend you?
Yeah, a big victory- but definitely a hollow one.
