Whoa.

And I thought nothing could beat the Virgin airlines urinal. I was wrong.

Wrong indeed, Jessica. I guess you haven't seen these urinals.
Actually, I think the Virgin Airlines urinal looks more like a caricature of Mick Jagger's mouth.
Whereas this one is just foul.
Oh. The urinals I linked to were somewhere in Austria. I actually hadn't heard of the Virgin Airlines debacle.
This is horrible and disgusting.
It should have a trigger warning.
Ugh!
Ew.
For some reason my comment didn't post the first time. Not that it was terribly profound:
It's not just skeevy sexism. It's poorly executed skeevy sexism.
Damn, sorry about this. All I wanted to say was (retching noises).
i'm speechless. and sad.
Is that piece of shit for pissing or jacking off? Are the patrons of said bar so poorly educated that they equate the two?
That is disgusting! But not surprising.
Totally agree with the Mick Jagger's mouth comment (posted the same myself in that thread), and continuing the theme of subversive reinterpretation, I'd like to see this one as a strange homage to Robert Smith (the cure). But yeah, it's foul.
What I'd like to see is a urinal shaped like a male mouth, in the men's room.
Well, this nicely sums up the attitude that women aren't people, they're just receptacles--for penises, semen, babies, and now urine, apparently.
I'm further disturbed by the fact that that thing looks more beat-up than a secondhand thrift-store coffee table.
*shudder*
That is horribly disgusting and why does it look diseased? You know what, I really don't need the answer to that question. Never mind. I'm going to rinse my eyes out.
If I walked into a restroom and this was the only urinal there, I'd either lose the urge entirely or pee on the floor. This is SO brutal. It looks like part of a dismembered corpse, especially with the rust/calcification along the edges of the thighs. Who thought this was a good idea, and is he still at large?
I agree, Tom. Here we have an example of how violence and sex are often linked. We have an obviously sexual sight, but suggestion of violence is evident in the way the legs seem to be battered, torn, and ripped apart. And we wonder why rape is still such a problem nowadays.
Oh, and did I mention - EEEWWWW!!!!!?
Objectification of women plus the glorification of violence towards women. Two examples of misogyny for the price of one. Bonus! *hint: this is sarcasm*
Is it me? The Virgin ones make me want to go watch Rocky Horror Picture Show...
The Virgin ones reminded me of RHPS, too--and I gotta say, compared to the crotch urinal, they seem downright benign now.
Jes, gotta agree with the suggestion of violence--the torn pantyhose another good example of that. This urinal is the most violently misogynistic object I think I have ever seen in my life, period. Incredibly nasty stuff.
Peace,
TH
That's just gross. You have to wonder about the mind of the person that designed it
Nasty skeevy all of the above. And EJ's back!
I didn't think you did anything to be banned! Welcome back.
Yay! I'm glad she's back, too. Welcome back, EJ!
You know, I always look forward to the annual tasteless product awards, but I don't think there's much of a point this year. Then again, this one is so disgusting that it deserves its own category.
*mouth hangs open in horror*
*closes it quickly before men wander in and get ideas*
Seriously. What the fuck.
Jessica, this picture trashes your whole page, can't we move it along a bit ... it really is heinous, looks like some corpse's dismembered, discarded limbs. That is what is most disturbing (as someone else remarked too), violence coupled with stage 2 decomposition.
You know, I'd also be in favor of moving it past the click. It really does look like battered, dismembered corpse limbs in stage 2 decomposition. Scary and depressing stuff. Know what's more scary and depressing? Somebody thought this was clever.
Peace,
TH
...and notice how squeaky-clean the walls are relative to the urinal.
I don't know. Here again, the fact that someone thought this was clever--that they thought "Hey, this is great, let's build one of these and stick it in the bathroom"--is the scariest part of all for me.
Peace,
TH
I'm sorry....where is this place with the horrid urinal? I say we organize a "peaceful, non violence" protest that ends in the destroying of these disgusting things.
Unfortunately, I've seen worse: http://tinyurl.com/y9gsjn
