Breaking: Afghan women's rights official murdered
Safia Annajan, Director of Afghanistan's Ministry of Women's Affairs in Kandahar, was killed today. She was shot as she left her home this morning.
According to the BBC, Annajan had made requests for "secure official transport and personal bodyguards" but was denied.

I just want to cry. The amount of hate in this world and the loss of such an amazing woman is too much.
This is just terribly depressing... I have hope for women and their rights in the Middle East but this is so tragic.
