30 Days with anti-choicers
On this week's episode of Morgan Spurlock's 30 Days reality TV show, a pro-choice woman goes to live in a faith-based center for young pregnant women in California. (We posted their casting call back in February.)
I'm not likely to see it tonight because the show airs at the same time as my beloved Project Runway. Ahem. But a friend is going to TiVo it for me, and I'll be weighing in later. If anyone happens to catch 30 Days tonight, feel free to post your thoughts in comments. I'm definitely curious.

I don't know who this woman is, but I give her automatic props for taking this shit on. I wouldn't last a day without my head exploding.

I think it is interesting that the moms expected Pro-Choice Jennifer to be no good whatever with kids or making food or nurturing...I think there is a stereotype on the Right of feminists being fueled only by caffeine, the occasional cig, and rage. I am a bit like that, but some of the fiercest feminists I know are moms.
Yes; few things enrage the anti-choice protesters at the clinic for which I escort more than when I goof around with passing kids. It really upsets them--to the point that they loudly claim that I'm just "pretending" to like small children. They cannot seem to reconcile the idea that I love kids and kids by and large like me, and I do not believe it is acceptable to force a woman to endure pregnancy against her will.
