Murray and Clinton call on Dept. of Health to investigate Hager
In response to yesterday's revelations about W. David Hager's role in keeping emergency contraception from obtaining over-the-counter status, Senators Patty Murray (D-WA) and Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) sent a letter to Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt urging him to launch an immediate investigation.
Unfortunately, no one seems to be calling for an investigation into the rape accusations.

Dr. Hagar to leave FDA advisory panel
I think he just got railroaded out. Now I am convinced that his ex-wife was just lying to get force him to resign from the position he was in.
I think that his enemies wanted him gone, and for now, they've gotten their wish.
He said the article -- which includes graphic details about their sex life together -- was "not based on all of the facts."
"As I said before, the allegations as stated do not reveal all of the information and therefore they're incomplete and not true," the obstetrician-gynecologist said.
Interesting choice of words. He's not saying the allegations are totally false, and isn't saying what further information was excluded that would, presumably, make this acceptable.
This is hardly railroading; this sequence of events happened fairly quickly with relatively few participants (all the protests about his inappropriateness for this position BEFORE we knew how he treated his ex-wife had very little effect), and it's certainly odd that someone whose ex-wife is "lying" out of personal bitterness would have resigned so quickly.
You made a VERY good point, he bailed quicker than a rat off a sinking ship. I think that's very suspicious and probably means there is at least some truth to the accusations against him.
