Get fired for fucking

Cause everyone knows that whores don't make good teachers.

From the Associated Press:

A teacher at a private Christian school in Berrien Springs [Michigan] has been placed on administrative leave for getting pregnant out of wedlock.

Christine John is a first-year teacher at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School. She says school officials asked her why she was four months along in her pregnancy when she had been married just two months.

John says school officials told her that premarital sex is an act strictly forbidden by the school system and the religion. She was told her services were no longer needed and that she will be on paid leave until her contract expires.

Now she's considering legal action.

Most of the whores I've met were pretty good at math. At least, the money part of it. I can't make any statement about their teaching ability in general, though, since I never fufilled that whole sailor image and partook of the offered wares.

I have a hard time working up outrage at hiring practices at a religious institution that is completely self-supported. If they want to make outright celibacy a work requirement, that's their business, as long as their education is solid. As far as I'm concerned, they did their basic human duty by keeping her on paid leave so her family doesn't starve while she's looking for a new job.

The instant they start accepting taxpayer money, the rules change, but is that the case?

As a side note, I think this is fairly lousy tactical behaviour for a Christian school, and not really very Christian behaviour overall. When you get this strict, all you do is force misdeeds underground. I wonder how many secret abortions there will be in the next decade or two because women decided that they couldn't risk having a premarital pregnancy detected by religious officials with the power to penalize them.

Yep. It's time to bring the coathangers out of the closet. *shudder*

If these folks are a privately fnded institution dedicated to disseminating (their version of) Christian values, then I guess they have every right to fire her. It'd be the same if you tried to eat pork sandwiches and worshippinh Jesus while teaching Hewbrew school.

I live in Berrien Springs and the story was so under reported that most BSers don't even know it happened. Of course there are a lot of Adventist bigwhigs in charge of the local media who'd hate for their religion to get a bad reputation.

The craziest thing about it (imo) is that the woman actually did the Christian thing: get married, and she was still punished for it.

Sometimes I think we're not evolving at all.

The feeling of advantage defines that the girl disagrees on sexual relations and never provokes it; Sexual abstention till 25-30 years not only is harmless, but also it is rather useful, and in to the marriage period, i.e. at the age of 18-26 years, it is necessary; As a rule, the young man achieving affinity with the girl, does not love it... Therefore - watch over health, girls!
