Women teachers at a school in the Indian city of Bhubaneswar have been told to wear aprons so that senior male students do not get distracted by their bodies, Indian newspapers reported Tuesday.
"The unconscious exposure of a body by a lady teacher during teaching could be an object of amusement for male students inside the classroom," K.C. Satpathy, the principal of DAV Public School, was quoted in The Times of India newspaper as saying.
"By wearing an apron, the quality of teaching could improve."
Offensive sexism aside, since when do aprons hide your body? My boobs just look bigger in them.

I'm going to need some sort of visual confirmation on that.
And no this is not "sexism" it's "fact checking".
First of all, I saw nothing in the post about wearing anything under the apron, so if the female teachers were wearing aprons only, I fail to see how that is an improvment. Aren't their any female students in this school who, with or without aprons, are just as distractful?
Besides that as I recall "being distracted by their [female teacher's] bodies" was what kept this high school student IN THE CLASS ROOM!

Heyt, maybe we shoukd make the pretty teachers wear Boris Karloff masks while we're at it. That way no male child will fantasis about those luscious lips commiting lacivious acts on them under the desk.
Or better yet, why not some kind of whol-body covering, just to make sure? And why limit it to the school? I sure as heck don't want to be distracted by some beautiful woman whil I'm at work. I could lose my concentration and hurt myself.
So there we have it: if we want to get anything done in this world, we have to ake women cover themsleves from head to toe. That will make our society a better, more productive place.
I've actually been to Bhubaneswar. I shudder to think of the havoc wreaked on innocent workers and schoolboys by the sight of my un-aproned body.
I feel like there's more to this story then we're getting here. Is there some sort of moral panic going on? Is this a way to get back at teachers who are being too assertive?
This amuses me because it reminds me of a sci-fi writer's justification for why women shouldn't be astronauts: in space there is no gravity, and the tissue of a woman's breasts would act as a liquid and form a perfect sphere. And that would be FAR too distracting to the men on board. By that logic we could just refuse to let attractive women hold any mixed-gender job. It's nuns or nothing!
Some of my male teachers were pretty "distracting" for me. Are they going to teach from behind a screen so I don't see their broad sholders or bulging package?
I think what bothers me the most is this ingrained assumption that men are wild animals and can't be expected to control themselves. It infantilizes that men and puts all the responsibility onto the women.
