New South Dakota logo?

From EKO, in comments at Daily Kos. Scary.

UPDATE: But it paints a more accurate picture than CNN's underwhelming take on the ban:

As if the SD ban is primarily about anonymous women and the law, rather than a return to unsafe, clandestine abortions. Honestly, I've seen better graphics in high school newspapers.

Oy. The CNN graphic is lame.

Oh pity all the poor, poor women out there who will be stupid enough to try just about ANYTHING to abort their babies. Cripes.

Darwin was right. If a woman is ignorant enough to do such a thing, it's best that she not reproduce anyway. Babies born to such women are most likely destined to be mouth-breathers.

Out from under what rock did 'photophlex' crawl, and is there some way we can dynamite the hole and exterminate the residual cretins hiding therein?

Personally, I find myself wondering what legal rights rapists will have. Especially those daddy/grandaddy incest cases. I can't wait to see these custody battles.

Rapist: "Your honor, I'm well-off with a decent job. She doesn't have any work experience, she's got post-traumatic stress disorder and is depressed, so she's not likely to get a good job anytime soon. She's got 3 other kids to take care of. Also, she drank during her pregnancy. And she didn't even WANT this baby."

Victim: "I was a stay-at home mom, but my husband left me and my kids when I got pregnant from the rape because he said he wouldn't raise somebody else's child and couldn't stand looking at it. And yeah, I went out and got drunk when I was pregnant--I was freaking out becuase I got raped and my husband left me! Um, I don't have any job prospects and things are really tough, what with 4 kids to take care of, but I'm not letting my child be raised by my rapist."

Judge: "I understand you were raped, but you should have just gotten over it--really, the drinking is inexcusable. Now you have too many kids to take care of, no job prospects, and some big psychological problems. Best interests of the child is to go with his father."

Where did CNN get that silhouette? It looks as if it wandered off a James Bond poster?

Very nice. Tild has a nice SD state seal up at my blog [top right hand corner below the mast], as well as an SD tourism postcard here. [scroll to end of post]

Hey, Barry Bonds and his fat, steroid-laden ass is dominating CNN's front page, so it's nice to know that they're doing something worthwhile.

If anyone hasn't seen the posting on Crooks & Liars that interviews the senator from SD - it's a must see. Be warned though, it will make you want to break something when he talks about how extreme a woman's abuse must be before he would even consider an abortion justifiable. Oh, and he wants us to get back to traditional "old western" values! Yeah, the good ol' days of genocide, slaves and lawlessness, yeehaw!

I have to agree the silhouette is very sexual. I wasn't thinking Bond, but even worse some X-rated video cover. I love how even the news has to sexualize us, even when it comes to abortion. It reminds me of the post a while ago about the pretty pro-life girls.
