Undercover cops buy sex. Legally.

This is just nutty.

In Spotsylvania County, as part of a campaign by the sheriff's office to root out prostitution in the massage parlor business, detectives have been receiving sexual services from "masseuses." During several visits to Moon Spa on Plank Road last month, detectives allowed women to perform sexual acts on them on four occasions and once left a $350 tip, according to court papers.

Spotsylvania Sheriff Howard D. Smith said that the practice is not new and that only unmarried detectives are assigned to such cases. Most prostitutes are careful not to say anything incriminating, so sexual contact is necessary, he said.

Oh, well as long as it’s unmarried cops are getting hand jobs, then it’s all good. This definitely goes under the WTF file.

THe truth is these policemen are acting as exploiters. THough society disoproves of the avenue with which these women are making money, the reality is htey ARE making money providing a service, and considering a $350 tip, much more than the likely alternatives. The police take advantage of the service, leave a false payment, then throw the women in jail or whatever they do.

It is time that society started treating sex workers as ACTUAL PEOPLE, realized that selling sex is perfectly legitimate, and that it is a lifestyle choice that for many can provide their highest possible income. the crime and abuse surrounding prostitution are what happens when it is pushed underground and becomes dominated by exploitive thugs on one hand, and a lack of actual workers rigths on the other as the women are working "under the table. lets make it legal, offer protections to sex workers so that their rights can be enforced, and end this madness that only works to get cops free hand jobs! Power to the people!

I thought police guidelines were pretty clear that you're not supposed to do that.

Consummating the crime kind of defeats the purpose of law enforcement, eh?
