Quote of the Day: “Men–the new second class citizens”

Regular readers of the blog probably know by now that I have a weakness for Suzanne Venker’s trolling. I try my best but I will always, always click that link-baiting headline to see her latest absurdity. You, however, should be better than me and resist the temptation to give FOX News any more pageviews. Just enjoy this little nugget:

“Yet it is males who suffer in our society. From boyhood through adulthood, the White American Male must fight his way through a litany of taunts, assumptions and grievances about his very existence. His oppression is unlike anything American women have faced. Unlike women, however, men don’t organize and form groups when they’ve been persecuted. They just bow out of the game.”

Welcome to the bizarro-world of the anti-feminist–where up is down, there’s “an unspoken commandment when it comes to sex in America” that “thou shalt never blame the woman” (uh…yeah), and guys are oppressed by everything from VAWA to a lack of recess. Actually, the only room for common ground I see is on the recess front. I’m a pro-recess feminist all the way.
