THIS. THIS. THIS!! So much this!!! I can’t describe how infuriating it is to be referred to as “a female.” what am I, a prize mare?

I’d rather be called a female, which is factually true, than a “girl,” which is untrue and infantalizing. This gif makes me pretty irritated at Feministing. Please STOP giving space to television shows and people who identify women as girls. If you can’t talk about women without giving these people space, at least call them out on it!

I am not offended by lady, woman, female, girl, I don’t even mind chick. But when men call us bitches or other degrading names I have a problem.
What bothers me more than anything is when guys are gentlemanly to women’s faces then turn around and call us names and demean us.
The US military is the perfect example, they call you mam then turn around and say bitch, that’s whats scary.
