What We Missed

Dr. Jean Pakter, who did important work to make sure abortion was a safe procedure, died Tuesday at 101.

Today’s “No duh” study: about half of Latino voters find the term “illegal immigrant” offensive.

And in a poll sure to make some people’s heads explode (you know, the same folks panicking about the lack of white babies), a higher percentage of people of color than white people support same sex marriage.

Colin Powell is the latest political figure to jump on the bandwagon and say he has “no problem” with same sex marriage.

The New York Times has a new profile of Ina May Gaskin. Which makes this the perfect time to revisit Feministing’s inspiring two part interview with Gaskin.

Wow, it’s not surprising to me that Fox News conducted that study… like, really? *sigh*

Glad to see more political figures standing behind same-sex marriage. I’m really looking forward to when someone from the GOP says it (maybe they already have and I missed it) but that would really send a shockwave through the country.
