What We Missed

Quote of the Day by Paul Krugman: “[M]aybe traditional social values are eroding in the white working class — but maybe those traditional social values aren’t as essential to a good society as conservatives like to imagine.”

Headline of the Day by Pam Spaulding: “Lactating boobies in the workplace will kill job creation (and other signs of the womanapocalypse)”

In a domestic violence case in Florida, the judge ordered the alleged abuser to just take his wife out to Red Lobster to make up. Lovely.

Tweeters are sharing pics and more to combat all the BC coverage pushback with #iusebirthcontrol – and not shockingly, it’s trending worldwide.

Care should be taken in regards to the Red Lobster outing to point out that the woman in question was the one who came up with the punishment and presented it to the judge. The judge let her choose the restaurant and the after dinner outing (bowling). The judge also handed down that they had to obtain marriage counseling within the week.

If you are letting the victim pick the punishment and this is what the victim comes up with there is no reason to question her judgement.

The woman also stated in court that she believed this was a one time occurence and wanted the man to come back home to her.

I wish our culture would take partner violence and Stockholm Syndrome more seriously.
