I belong to no one

*Trigger warning*

I belong to no one
No one in particular
No one on earth at least
No one in the heavens or sky or deep down in the ground

I only belong to myself, my heart is a place of my peace
My peace is for me, not to be stolen by any man or woman
not to be tarnished by any gold or diamond or the moist air that goes around
looking for iron to rust, or fine wine to spoil

My spirit is free and never to be captured by anyone
I have seen all of it
I have experienced being owned, being locked, being pinned down
There is nothing like that life, there is no pain more painful than that.

It’s like slavery, torture and being celled
When your home becomes your torture cell and your loved one becomes your master
He whips you with his belt and rips your muscle looking for his security and belonging
He thinks he is doing it all right, to fix you, to improve you
To make you up to his standard, to make you someone he deserves.
But in reality he is pushing you far far away from his heart.
The heart you thought you would melt one day,
the heart you thought was made of gold and silver
