One New Yorker subscriber is demanding her money back after a recent edition of the magazine only included two bylines by women, out of 76 pages of content. She plans to return every edition of the magazine that contains fewer than 5 female writers.

The Scott sisters, who have been in a Mississippi prison for 17 years for a $11 robbery, were just released after a Governor’s pardon.

A federal policy supporting the rights of breastfeeding mothers who work in the federal government was quietly rolled out over Christmas. This policy was part of the new health care reform package. The new rules require that moms be given time and private clean spaces to breastfeed or pump during work.

    Oprah’s new network without Latinos? Why should I be surprised? Her last network, Oxygen, had someone profile my old band–well, a profile exclusively of the blonde haired blue eyed bassist. Cuban lead singer, half-Turkish drummer, et al, were relegated to the shadows. In retrospect I wish I’d refused to take the stage.
