Today in Feminist History: Happy birthday Eve & Dixie

Two feminist birthdays to celebrate today: Eve Ensler and Dixie Carter.

On May 25, 1953, Eve Ensler was born. Ensler (pictured left) is best known for her play the Vagina Monologues, which continues to be reproduced around the world to spark dialogue about violence against women and girls.

On May 25, 1939, Dixie Carter was born. Carter (pictured right) is best known for her role on the long running show Designing Women. The show was about a woman-owned interior design firm in Atlanta. Carter died in April of this year.
