10-Year-Old Girl Gets Canada’s Medal of Bravery

Here’s an awesome feel-good story of the day: A ten-year-old girl in Canada received one of the country’s highest honours for saving her mother’s life two years ago.
Karin Roy feel through the frozen ice of Mississippi Lake in March of 2007, and her incredibly bad-ass daughter Kelsey chose to save her mom from a terrifying death rather than run for safety.
I live near Carleton Place, the town where this happened, and let me tell you – wintertime around here is nothing but ridiculous cold. I can’t imaginge the guts this took. Check out her full story (along with other recipients of the award).
Congratulations on your award, Kelsey Roy!
