Introducing our new Community Moderator: Anna Sterling

We’re super excited to introduce our new Community Moderator, Anna Sterling! Anna is a fantastic activist and we think she will bring a lot to the Feministing community. Anna will be primarily in charge of moderating comments, so look out for her name in comment threads.

A little bit about Anna:

Anna was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay specifically). Her radical politicization/awakening to feminist thought first began when she took an Intro to World Religions course at USD where her Buddhist nun professor imparted revolutionary seeds of thought into her head. She transferred to UCLA and the seeds continued to grow with her involvement in Samahang Pilipino (a political Pilipino organization at UCLA) and enrollment in women’s studies and Asian American studies courses. Graduating in spring 2009, she is now living back at home in the Bay Area where she writes for her blog Musings of a Radical Pinay.
She is a huge bookworm– some of her favorite books include The Color Purple, America is in the Heart, The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Pedagogy of the Oppressed and anything by Gloria Anzaldua.
She has been an avid reader/lover of Feministing since 2007 and is extremely excited to be a part of the team.

Welcome Anna!
