Hooters part deux

Hello all.  For my first post, I’d like to ask for some advice….

A new restaurant is moving into town.  It is called “Brick House Tavern & Tap.”  Now, I’m a huge foodie and was really excited about the prospect of an as yet unheard of restaurant moving in.  As soon as I got home, my mom and I searched for it on the Internet.

Well.  The homepage proudly states that the restaurant “dispenses happiness to the common man,” with links to pages called “BH Girls,” “Manfood,” and “Play.”  Also on the homepage, the viewer is confronted with a large picture of a glass of beer with a text overlay saying “i want you, i need you. i’m begging you – take me. xoxo”  All right, it’s a beer saying it wants me and needs me…not..too…bad….?

To find a bit more information about the place, we first clicked on the “about us” tab.  The info about the beers asks, “how would you like to tap this?” Also, there is apparently something called a “man cave” at this place.  In this “man cave,” guys have the luxury of having their “own Brick House Girl there to make all of [their] food and beverage dreams come true.”  Really.

Okay, deep breath.

After clicking on the “man food” tab, we were brought to the menu.
Special recipes are denoted with red lip marks, and some of the dish
names include “dominant meat red chili,” “submissive baked potato
soup,” “man-cave mac & cheese,” and of course “‘double d’
cupcakes.”  In the section called “gotta have my meat & potatoes,”
customers can choose from one meat (beef, chicken or pork) and two
sides.  Amidst the manly variety of french fries is an option “just for the ladies…steamed broccli or side salad.”

Deciding we had enough of the menu, we clicked on the “BH Girls”
tab.  These exploited women don denim booty shorts with too-tight black
tops.  Some reviews of the restaurant termed it “upscale Hooters”
dress.  Other reviews of the restaurant revealed that the girls sit
down with you while taking your order, and lean in ways that expose
their breasts.  One reviewer in particular said she was disgusted by
how phallic and breast-like the food is.

Well, isn’t that just a damn shame.  I cannot stand what this place
stands for and represents.  Why is it okay for restaurants to exploit
women as these submissive, sex objects?  Why do these restaurants
continue to make business?  I want to do something to raise awareness
about what this restaurant stands for so people do not give it their
time.  I think I’m going to write an editorial for the local newspaper
about it….Does anyone have any suggestions?
