Slut Shaming, False Rape Reports and the Closer

This episode of the closer is about what appears to be a drug deal gone wrong until lots of privacy is violated and questionable ethics reveal its all about teenagers having sex, slut shaming and pregnancy.
A young woman who lives with her misogynist father and brother had become pregnant by her boyfriend. She dumps him, tells her father she’s pregnant, he calls her a whore and she responds with an allegation of rape. Her brother responds to the news by murdering her ex-boyfriend and another student in the school’s crowded parking lot.
Now you can have an egg before the chicken debate about how if the brother wasn’t so violent or if the young woman hadn’t lied about being raped in a frantic response to being called a whore by her father the ex-boyfriend would have been fine. But I think it goes to show 1) the absurdity of slut shaming and some people’s response to knowing their teen(s) have had sex and 2) how frightening/scary teen pregnancy or being found out having sex can be when you have such strict caregivers.
What do you think of it all and the episode?
