Phalluses R’ Us

This is the best pic yet of the pro-military folks who held their itty bitty rally this weekend. Classic.

    “more butter”
    ^-^
some people are just stuck ina neolithic time period and just don’t have the evolutionary skills necessary to get out, all one can do is look upon those poor souls and weep for them and the rest of society who feels the effects of their ignorance…

Father Bob held up a bumper sticker at mass yesterday (yes, I am a white, christian, male, as well as a feminist-if we are allowed) that said:
“God bless the whole world, no exceptions”
These guys obviously go to a different church. I don’t remember seeing threats of violence and cursing our enemies in the teachings of Jesus.

I was relieved that the pro death march drew so few people. I feel better about the US for the first time in about five years.
We are very slow, but we get there eventually.

/I don’t remember seeing threats of violence and cursing our enemies in the teachings of Jesus. /
And perfectly in keeping with the whole “phallus” theme:
“I come not to bring peace, but a sword.” – Jesus

Dim – I stand by what I posted earlier, but that was pretty damn funny.

Just to clarify about Dim’s Jesus quote… it is taken out of context and Jesus was not promoting war. So no, those pro-war ralliers were *not* following Jesus’ teachings.

Here is the chorus from a classic John Prine song, which he performed here at the Austin City Limits Music Festival last weekend.
But your flag decal won’t get you
    Into Heaven any more.
    They’re already overcrowded
    From your dirty little war.
    Now Jesus don’t like killin’
No matter what the reason’s for,
And your flag decal won’t get you
    Into Heaven any more.
And Dim’s post was still pretty damn funny

From the Gospel of Matthew, Ch.5 Verses 43-48
“Ye have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy. But *I* say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who insult you and persecute you, that ye may be the sons of your Father who is in the heavens; for he makes his sun rise on evil and good, and sends rain on just and unjust. For if ye should love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not also the tax-gatherers the same? And if ye should salute your brethren only, what do ye extraordinary? Do not also the Gentiles the same? Be *ye* therefore perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.
No, I’m not a Christian, or even a believer for that matter. But I do spend a lot of time reading the Bible, so that I can point out fallacies in the arguments of those who consider themselves “righteous.”
If Jesus was alive today, he’d look at these so-called Christians and throw up. If he knew that this would be the outcome of his teachings, he probably would have stuck to carpentry.
